Grade 2 Theory – Chapter 6 – Keys and Scales (Part 2)
This chapter introduces keys and scales for grade 2 theory. In this chapter, you need to understand:
– Relative Majors and Minors
– Harmonic minor scales
– The keys and scales of A mnor, E minor and D harmonic minor
I have created one video to cover all keys and scales for all grades. The video is called “The Connection Between Major and Minor Scales“. The video gives you the tools to be able to write scales in any major or minor key and to understand relationships between different keys. There is also a video which focuses on identifying minor keys.

THE CONNECTION BETWEEN MAJOR AND MINOR KEYS
This is the video I recommend that all my students watch to learn about scales, keys and key signatures. This shows you how to create the major and different types of minor scales using a specific key relationship diagram I ask my students to use in their theory exams. You can use this diagram to write any major and minor scale that you are asked for on your theory exam.
