My name is Lynsey and I am the only piano teacher at Serenity Music Tuition.

I am a fully qualified teacher with PGCE with QTS. I studied music at university for 5 years and have a Bachelor of Music degree (BMus) and a Master of Music degree (MMus) in classical music. I am also a classically trained pianist and cellist, achieving grade 8 in piano at the age of 16 and grade 8 on cello at the age of 18. I then learnt to diploma standard on piano whilst at university, being taught by professional concert pianists. I have spent many years working in the classroom as Teacher of Music, Head of Music and Head of Faculty. Over those years, I have taught all years from year 7 to 13 inclusive of Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level. I have been responsible for writing schemes of work and managing the Performing Arts Faculty or Music Department. I set up Serenity Music Tuition in 2021 whilst still working part time in the classroom. In 2023 I decided to leave classroom teaching to run Serenity Music Tuition full time. 

During my time as a teacher, I have worked with hundreds of students to help them to achieve the highest grades at GCSE and A level music. I am lucky enough to continue this work with some of my students in my role now, guiding them with GCSE and A level performances and compositions. I have accompanied hundreds (if not thousands!) of students on piano for GCSE and A level performances. I have also played piano for many, many school concerts, showcases and musicals and have been musical director/pianist for ‘Annie’, ‘Grease’, ‘West Side Story’, ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘The Addams Family’, to name but a few. I have spent my life working with students who adore music, and I consider myself extremely lucky that I am able to continue to do that now in my role as piano teacher at Serenity Music Tuition.

I am extremely proud of my 100% exam pass rate at Serenity Music Tuition. I feel like I have the best job ever and I have such hard working, loyal students, many of whom have been with me since my business began in 2021! It continues to be a pleasure to witness the progress my students make. They are amazing!
